Detection of micro-infarcts in the brain

After completing her research internship in the laboratory as part of her diploma with ESPCI Paris, Alice decided to stay with us to do a research master's degree. Her project consists in detecting micro infarction in the brain (necrosis due to inadequate blood supply). A cerebral infarction due to poor blood flow to the brain results in cell death, where at least a tenth of the brain could be impacted. But micro infarction are not detected by imaging process and they induce mainly neurodegenerative disorder due to blood vessels blockage. The project begins with aberrations correction of ultrasonic waves due to the skull through a matrix approach.
