The 3D imaging probes used in the laboratory consist of more than a thousand elements for the transmission and reception of ultrasound signals. In combination with the localization microscopy used in the laboratory, it is possible to obtain a 3D image with a resolution ten times smaller than the wavelength used. However, this method requires a large amount of data to be acquired, transmitted, stored and processed. To overcome this constraint, the laboratory is working on several projects to design different prototypes of ultrasound probes that would reduce the amount of data required for imaging.
